Gabriel Ingliss

Gabriel Ingliss is the first musician to win the Music Guild of New Mexico’s Jackie McGehee Young Artists competition on both piano and violin. As a result Gabe performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in 2022 and the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in 2024 with the NM Philharmonic. Gabriel performed Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 2 with the Santa Fe Symphony in January 2025 and currently serves as an Apprentice Artist for Santa Fe Pro Musica. In 2018 Gabe performed Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D with the Symphony Orchestra of the Oberbergischer Kreis at the Lindlar Piano Festival in Germany. He was also invited by KHFM in 2019 to perform Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 12 for the radio. Gabe has played Beethoven Piano Sonata No. 5 in C Minor for a Chatter concert in 2019 as well as Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 23 in F Minor “Appassionata” for Chatter in 2023. Gabe has been educated at Meadowmount, Lamont School of Music, University of New Mexico, Santa Fe Prep, and La Mariposa Montessori. He started playing the violin at the age of four under the guidance of his mother Yuko Shimokawa. Currently he studies with the renowned violist Toby Appel. Gabe will be studying at Music in Menlo for the summer of 2025.

Rafael Ingliss

Rafael Ingliss, 13 years old, is the youngest winner of the Guild of New Mexico’s Jackie McGeehee Young Artists’ Competition competition on piano. He has performed Mozart Piano Concerto K. 414 with the New Mexico Philharmonic. He started studying at age four on both piano and violin with his mother Yuko Shimokawa and currently studies piano with Lois Shapiro. Besides music, Rafi is a skilled dancer and actor with prominent roles in Aspen Santa Fe Ballet’s Nutcracker productions for the past five years. He starred as Fritz for 2025 after having been a party guest for 2022-2024. He also starred as Robin, Falstaff’s pageboy, in Santa Fe Opera’s production of Falstaff in 2022. For 2023 he sang in the children’s choir for Santa Fe Opera’s Tosca and for 2025 he will be singing again with Santa Fe Opera in La Bohème.
